The 2010 BAFTAs were awarded to games in 16 categories. For the very first time, FIFA MANAGER was among the nominees in the category “strategy”. Unfortunately, we could not win the prize but we had a great time in London. Our congratulations go to Sega who won the price for their Empire: Total War.

In order to properly represent Bright Future and FIFA MANAGER, a delegation was send to the UK. Bernhard and I were the two lucky employees who had the pleasure to join the award ceremony which took place in London.

Our journey to the mother country of football started last Friday. After we landed in Heathrow, we were driven to our hotel to get ourselves in shape for the awards ceremony, which took place in the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane. A lot of representatives from various game studios were present, including some guys from the Football Manager team, who we had a nice little chat with later. When we arrived at the Hilton Hotel, an Oscar-like red carpet welcomed us. Our photos were taken, flashlights everywhere, we almost felt like stars…

After a great dinner, the award show started at 9 pm. Together with our EA producer Adrian Curry we watched the awards and also briefly visited the after party. Since we had some time left on Saturday before our flight back we did a little shopping tour and visited all the great places in London.

Even though we could not win the prize this year, we are very proud to have been nominated for this important British award. We will continue to work hard and give our best to further improve the game. This is why I have to get back to work now

Cheers

Adrian
